After watching the first couple of trailers for Borderlands 3, you've probably noticed that several characters from across the series are returning for the third installment. However, there are many new faces entering the fray. As with previous titles, Borderlands 3 features a new set of at least four playable Vault Hunters, each with their own unique abilities, skill trees, and customization options. More details will appear in the gameplay debut on May 1, but we can already find the necessary information.

Mose Boat Jock

Moze the Gunner's main ability comes from her Iron Bear robot, which instantly spawns around her when summoned. It is much more mobile than previous marksman-type classes, which often had to maintain their strategies around stationary turrets. Another cool feature of Moze's iron bear is that other teammates can jump on it and use the turret installed in its head. This adds what appears to be an emphasis on collaboration to Moze's playing style. While she seems to be quite capable of defending herself, she seems to be much more dangerous and effective.

Amara Sirena

It wouldn't be a new Borderlands game without the presence of the Sirens, a group of mysterious women with incredible powers who are recognizable by the tattoos that adorn half of their bodies. Amara is the newest siren introduced in the series; though it's unclear how long she's been around in the Borderlands universe or where she comes from. Unlike Lilith and Maya, Amara is more focused on close combat, which manifests itself in her ability to summon multiple ethereal arms to strike at villains. Her muscular build and devastating offensive power make her a tough group fighter.

FL4K Beastmaster

FL4K is essentially the hunter class in Borderlands 3, but their most intriguing skill is their ability to control animals. From the early trailers, it looks like FL4K can choose between several different pets, each with their own unique abilities. Based on the screenshot above, FL4K is able to command the Skag, the Spider, and another weapon brandishing creature. It is currently unclear how many creatures FL4K can have near them at the same time or how they will be controlled. If FL4K's appearance is the basis for determining the weapons he uses most effectively, then it looks like he's adept at using short to medium range weapons and grenades.

Zane Operational

If you're a fan of Zero in Borderlands 2, then Zane is most likely the Vault Hunter you'll want to pick in Borderlands 3. We're not just talking because both of their names start with "Z", but because of his decoy, which is draws aggro from enemies. All this does not mean that Zane does not have his own unique abilities; he comes with several gadgets such as an attack drone that supports him in combat.
