Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds Made $100 Million Faster Than Genshin Impact and Pokemon Go

Latest mobile game I'm Not Afraid: Cross Worlds makes big money fast.

After launching on June 10, Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds managed to reach $100 million in revenue in just 11 days. This puts it ahead of Pokemon Go and Genshin Impact, which took 12 and 13 days, respectively.

Most of the revenue came from Japan, which spent a whopping $45,6 million on the game in its first days after launch. What's even more shocking is that Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds was only released in select regions, though it's unclear if its early success will carry over to newer regions.

“Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds is a stellar launch that quickly became the #2 mobile game in the world in just two weeks,” said Craig Chapple, mobile analytics strategist at Sensor Tower. "While the title was particularly lucrative during its first salvo, the early success of Asian RPGs is nothing new, and what will matter the most is how the game performs in the long run."

Not only did it hit $100 million at a blistering pace, it also managed to rank as one of the top-performing games during its launch.

“During the first 11 days, this game was the second highest grossing mobile game worldwide, grossing approximately $101,3 million,” said Craig Chapple. “The No. 1 mobile game by player purchases worldwide on the App Store and Google Play was Honor of Kings by Tencent, which grossed $102,3 million in the same period, and PUBG Mobile, also by Tencent and localized as Game For Peace in China, coming in third, grossing $80,2 million."

Cross Worlds is a mobile MMORPG for iOS and Android with great graphics for which the Ni No Kuni series is famous. At the moment, there is no indication of when it will hit Western audiences, although it looks like most regions won't get it until early 2022. Until then, you'll be able to play Revenant Kingdom on Nintendo Switch, which is due out in September.
