Gui Zhong was the Goddess of Dust and, along with the elemental archon Geo (later known as Morax), presided over Guili Valley before the Archon War began.
Gui Zhong was a big part of Genshin Impact, as she was Zhong Li's closest companion and the Goddess of Dust in Li Yue. She has a tragic story that is revealed through snippets of item descriptions, and players learn about her great genius and mechanical prowess, as well as her death during the Archon War. As the creator of Gui Zhong's Ballista and Memory of Dust, as well as being a great source of wisdom for Zhong Li, Gui Zhong had a great impact on the world of Gensin Impact.

Gui Zhong was a benevolent goddess. She sympathized with people, accepting their fragility and fear of the unknown. What the Goddess lacked in destructive power, she made up for in wisdom. She was Morax's close ally and best friend, guiding his powerful abilities in the right direction. Undoubtedly, Gui Zhong was a very capable craftswoman. The ballista she created is considered an incredibly intricate device, and, talking about the devices of the Floating Castle, the Guardian of the Clouds proudly notes that Gui Zhong herself appreciated the complexity of the mechanisms, considering her the bearer of the highest engineering knowledge. She also trained her subjects in agriculture. Gui Zhong was very kind to her people. She wanted them to be wise, strong, to remain true to their moral convictions, not to cause civil strife - so that their home, the Guili Assembly, would always be protected.She hummed a tune that swayed the glazed lilies on the valley. Gui Zhong - one of the oldest known goddesses - "gave people four testaments." They sound like this:bring wisdom, be guided by virtue, strengthen vitality, seek solace in aspirations». Covenant tablets are scattered across the Guili Valley - in the west, north, southwest, south and east. In addition to ruling Guili's lands, Gui Zhong had her own property, called the Soaring Castle, located near Lake Luhua.So, Gui Zhong's influence on the world of Gensin Impact may have ended when she died in battle, but her memory is still stored in Zhong Li and the Dust Memory catalyst, and whenever players visit the Guili Plains, they can pay tribute respect to the late Goddess of Dust.
