Asuna is Kirito's friend and the second-in-command of the Blood Knights (KOB), a medium-sized guild of about thirty members, which is also said to be the strongest guild in Aincrad. Being one of the few girls who got into SAO, and even more so extremely beautiful, she receives many invitations and offers. She is a skilled player, earning the title "Lightning" for her extraordinary skill with a sword. Her in-game alias matches her real name.
