Gothic

Gothic is a role-playing game set in the fantasy kingdom of Myrtana, under the command of King Rhobar II. The kingdom is at war with the orcs. The welfare of the kingdom depends on the supply of magical ore from the island of Khorinis, in the depths of which was the Valley of Mines, where convicts worked. One day, the defense system of the Valley failed, and the magical barrier that kills everyone who tries to get out of it expanded to the entire Valley, cutting off people from the kingdom. The convicts rebelled, and as a result, the king had to negotiate with them, exchanging ore for provisions. The protagonist of the game, one of the prisoners exiled behind the Barrier, is forced to convey some secret message from the main sorcerer to his colleagues stuck behind the Barrier. He has a long way to go to crush the magical barrier, as well as frustrate the intrigues of the sectarians who are trying to revive the ancient god.

Gothic is a third-person role-playing game in which the protagonist moves around the island of Khorinis, destroying monsters and completing tasks for NPCs. As the story progresses, the hero will have access to new spells, weapons and armor, with which he will be able to deal with even the toughest enemies. Battles are fights with opponents either in melee or ranged combat (using magic or a bow/crossbow), where the camera is automatically aimed at the enemy if the player attacks him.
