About Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
On February 29, the long-awaited Final Fantasy 5 Rebirth will reach PlayStation 7. For the first time, the developers from Square Enix showed the game in the summer of 2022 and since then have shared various details, and in honor of the imminent release they even released a free demo. The new product will continue the story established in 7's Final Fantasy 2020 Remake. However, fans will receive not only interesting plot twists, but also many new mechanics, and this material will help them understand the main features of the role-playing game.
Why fans are waiting for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
The game director for the remake of Final Fantasy 7 and Rebirth said that fans have been asking for an updated version of the cult game for many years. The original delighted PlayStation users in 1997 and has since been released on other platforms, but players have noted that over the years the classic has become outdated in terms of mechanics and graphics. It was these problems that the remake had to cope with, which grew into a full-fledged reboot.
Fans were eagerly awaiting Rebirth due to the fact that the new product was the second chapter following Final Fantasy 7 Remake. The game significantly expands the original plot, pays more attention to already known events and introduces new narrative elements. The authors have planned a full-fledged trilogy, the final part of which is still in the early stages of development.
Game plot and background
Events will begin after the ending of Final Fantasy 7 Remake. A brave team led by Cloud Strife left the city of Midgar and set out on a journey to put an end to the tyranny of a giant industrial company and defeat the mysterious Sephiroth. All of these events were already shown in the original Final Fantasy 7, but Rebirth significantly expands the view of the story and introduces new elements into the plot. For example, the role of Zack Fire will be deepened - the ending of the remake showed that the hero did not die, as in the original game.
Rebirth will be a standalone game and will not require you to be familiar with Final Fantasy 7 Remake. This will please newcomers to the series, but first it is much better to go through the first part of the remake, which is available on PC, as well as PS4 and PS5. This way, players will be able to get acquainted with the full story and follow the emerging chemistry between Cloud and all his comrades from his squad.
The 2020 remake shows events in Midgar. Cloud joins the rebel group Avalanche and tries to stop the total control of the Sin-Ra corporation. This was not the only problem: during the adventure, the heroes will meet terrible monsters, criminal authorities of the local world and Sephiroth. This character even comes to Cloud in nightmares and pursues his own goals: to take revenge on the entire planet for having been subjected to Sin-Ra experiments in the womb.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will feature a variety of heroes, some of whom have already appeared in Remake. The developers wanted to show more personal moments of each character. And as we know, the more curious the hero, the more he attracts the viewer.
Cloud Strife is the main character and mercenary, disillusioned by serving in an elite military unit. He uses a heavy sword in battle and leads the Avalanche rebels, which included his childhood friend Tifa. At first, Cloud may seem self-confident and arrogant, but in reality the hero has a lot of mental trauma and treats his comrades with kindness.

Tifa Lockhart is Cloud's childhood friend and a fearless warrior who dispatches her opponents with her fists. In Midgar, the heroine had her own bar, where she poured drinks and delighted visitors with music. Tifa joined the rebels, believing the Sin-Ra Corporation to be responsible for social injustice and the decline of the city.

Aerith Gainsborough is one of Cloud's romantic interests. She is very cute, loves flowers and has magical powers. Because of the latter, Aerith’s whole life is in danger - she could be kidnapped by the Sin-Ra corporation. The girl uses staves as weapons and can heal her comrades and apply positive effects to them.

Barrett Wallace is a brave but sentimental warrior. He has a daughter, Marlene, whom Barrett loves and protects very much. The main feature of the hero was his hand cannon - combat prostheses replaced the thug’s lost limb.

Red XIII is an unusual animal from the Sin-Ra laboratory, resembling a lion. The beast surprised the Avalanche squad by being able to think intelligently and wanting to protect the world. Also, Red's main distinguishing feature was his tail with a fiery tassel - the character's creator still cannot come up with an explanation for such an unusual detail.

The relationships between the characters in Final Fantasy 7 turned out to be multifaceted and realistic. Developers always try to leave things unsaid. For example, in the love triangle between Cloud, Tifa and Aeris there is still no certainty: the flirting that arises every now and then constantly hints at something, but the heroes never openly talk about their feelings. Cloud's voice actor stated that the lack of intimacy in the characters' relationships allows them to show deep and multifaceted platonic feelings that do not necessarily have to be felt for one person.
