Guide to Oceanid Genshin Impact. Where to Find, How to Win, Weaknesses, Tricks

This is a guide on where to find and how to defeat the Oceanid boss in Genshin Impact. Read on for strategies, locations, drops, and the recommended group to defeat the Oceanid.

guide

Oceanid is a very unusual boss, especially when it comes to his behavior in battle. His combat mechanics are random and unpredictable. It belongs to the "plant" type, although it does not look like a type of ferns. You will find the Oceanid near Wuwang Slope and Qinn Ze Village, right in the middle of a small lake.

How to defeat the Oceanid

Victory over hydromimics

When you arrive at the boss fight arena, you will find yourself in a place surrounded by water. Try not to use fast swimming (right click) if you fall into the water during the fight. This is important because you will quickly deplete and die, and all battle progress disappears and the flower is fully restored. The fight will have to start over. Therefore, be extremely careful and watch the edges of the arena. When the Oceanid only gets out into the arena and soars, he has absolute immunity to all damage in general, so there is no point in hitting him with anything.

Unlike Ancient Geovishap and Crio and Pyro Ferns, the Oceanid cannot be attacked directly. Instead, he will summon a series of enemies that you must defeat in order to damage him.

sinking platforms

Each time you defeat 2 groups of Oceanid water monsters, the boss will lower the 2 platforms you are standing on to restrict your movement. Make sure you move carefully, as moving around will be much more difficult, especially in the last stage.

One Enemy Concentration

Water monsters summoned by the Oceanid heal over time. It is highly recommended to only focus on hitting them one by one rather than dealing damage to all at once. Simply put, choose one of them and hammer it to the end, and only then switch to the next one.

water bomb

If you take too long to defeat the water monsters that the Oceanid summons, the monster will use a powerful attack that cannot be avoided even if you run.

This can wipe out your party members quickly, so it's important to quickly defeat enemy groups or use shields and healing to keep your characters safe.

Recommended command

Free play option

DPS Sub-DPS Support
Keia Xiangling Barbara
Traveler (Anemo) Lisa Noelle

Freezing with Kaya

When it comes to the best Free to Play character option to use against the Oceanid, Keia stands out for her ability to freeze enemies in place during combat.

His elemental skill Cold Lunge can trigger a quick freeze reaction, while his elemental blast is very useful against mobs. You can also set up meltdown and superconductivity reactions that do a lot of damage.

Evaporation and electric charge

Xiang Ling and Lisa are also very effective against the Oceanid due to their vaporization reaction and electric charge respectively.

Using them in tandem with Keia helps them deal even more damage while still allowing for quick work on Hydromimics.

Shields help protect you from AoE attacks

Using Noelle against an Oceanid gives you shields that protect you from damaging

Cryoresonance is the key to success

Having a cryo user in your party will help make this fight easier. 15% increased Critical Strike Chance against Enemies Frozen or Cryo-affected, allowing you to deal more damage to each Hydromimic.

Having two characters Cryo also gives you more options to freeze multiple enemies in place, giving you more options to attack.

electrical resonance

Along with cryoresonance, the presence of electrical resonance useful in your group as well, as you gain 40% hydro-resistance, protecting you from hydro-mic attacks.

Creating superconducting, overloaded, and electrically charged reactions will also generate additional electro-elemental particles, helping you quickly charge up your elemental blasts.

Combined evaporation and melting

Pyroresonance - Another effective combination against the Oceanid. Evaporation is a reaction that delivers high DMG and when combined with Cryo creates a meltdown, another powerful reaction.

Attack options

Hydro-mimic sparrow

The finch attacks by jumping at you, dealing AoE damage over a large area. Prevent them from attacking by freezing them, or use shields to deal damage.

hydro mimic goose

Geese are surrounded by Hydro AoE, which means that attacking them at close range is not the best option. Use ranged attacks with a bow or kataist to deal damage from a distance.

Geese are the most problematic creatures that are surrounded by Hydro AoE, which means that attacking them at close range is not the best option. They are very mobile and have a constant circle spinning around them, which damages the AOE from the water. This AOE of geese takes a lot of health, so you will have to stay away from them and throw heals on yourself all the time. Geese have few attacks: they peck and deal damage with a water ring around them, which is the biggest problem. With them, the tactics are as follows: they threw a heal on themselves, ran back on a sprint, took an archer and quickly shot as far as they could. It will not work to stand here as a neighbor, simply because hp flies off very much. After 2 phases of the fight, the boss will dissolve part of the platform you are fighting on. They go to the bottom until the end of the fight, so be careful when running away from enemies around the arena.

Hydro-mimic boar

Boars may seem slow, but they are not. At first they just walk slowly, scatter at you, but at some point they start to fiercely rush your hero. They are called in the amount of 2 pieces, quite fat in HP. In the battle with them, you can use a melee if you want, although an archer is still recommended. Boars can also easily push you out of the arena, so be careful. And they are being treated. Then another piece of the arena may disappear again. This will happen again when the boss is around 25% health left.

Hydro-mimic squirrel

guide

These ferrets have a wide attack range, using tails that deal Hydro Damage. Keep your distance when they attack and get close to your own attacks.

Hydro-mimic crane

Hydro-Mimic Cranes are slow moving enemies that deal long range attacks. They flap their wings before each attack, which is a signal for you to dodge them.

Be sure to attack them as early as possible, as their ranged attacks deal high damage if you're not careful.

Hydro-mimic frog

Toads have two types of attacks: a ranged attack similar to Stork and a jumping AoE attack like Sparrow. Focus on attacking them when they spawn, as they are very difficult to deal with, especially when there are multiple enemies.

Hydro-mimic hawk

These flying enemies are very difficult to deal with as you need a bow or a catalyst to constantly attack them. They have a dive attack that can also knock you down, which is important to dodge or defend against.

Hydro-mimic crab

Crabs are fast moving enemies that have a bubble attack that does a lot of damage when they get close. Freezing them with cryo or electric shock can help you slow them down.

Fischl does a good job with crabs (especially if the map has a toad + crabs, or any 2 packs of different creatures). Fischl turns into a crow and, in case of danger, flies away from the place of attack. And also leaves the crow to spam attacks on enemies without your participation. Rutab.net
