Fortnite Save The World XP Has Become Meaningless After Major Cuts In Chapter 6 Season 1
Fortnite Save The World XP has been reduced to an impossibly low threshold for this season, making the mode redundant and virtually useless for players looking to earn Battle Pass XP. The issue was identified by a user @archer_fortnite on the social media platform X. According to his own experience at Save The World, the experience is now limited to an unimaginably low level.
Instead of being able to get nine seasonal levels per day, you can now only get nine a week. With the end Chapters 6 Season 1 February 21, 2025, you will have approximately 11-12 weeks.
This means that if you rely entirely on Save The World to progress Chapter 6 Season 1 Battle Pass, you'll be missing out on about 101 season levels. That's a significant downgrade from Chapter 2 Remix, when Save The World offered up to 448 playtime XP daily. Here's more information on this huge change and how the current Fortnite Save The World experience will impact leveling this season.
As mentioned earlier, the changes made to Fortnite Save The World's XP system are irritating on many levels. Given that the mode has a small audience, active players are now being stripped of XP. This, in turn, will cause more players to abandon the mode and move on to Battle Royale/Zero Build, Festival, and Reload to complete their Battle Pass.
Of course, Save The World can’t help you reach Season Level 200 on its own, but it was a good way to progress while enjoying the PvE mode. With the current changes to Fortnite Save The World’s XP system, it’s no longer possible to limit yourself to just one core mode. Players will have to branch out and play other core modes to get enough XP.
It should be noted that while Epic Games may have their reasons for this change, it is, to put it mildly, a barrier to entry. The whole point of spreading XP across all major modes for the Battle Pass becomes meaningless if the XP gained is paltry. User @WayComet summed up the situation in the following post.
It could be argued that the Battle Pass experience from Save The World wasn't a feature until very recently, so this change doesn't make a huge difference in the grand scheme of things. However, adding it and then making it obsolete is two steps backwards. Save The World is already niche in the ecosystem, and making changes to the experience like this will only discourage new players from joining.
It's truly surprising why such drastic changes were made to the Fortnite Save The World experience, especially with Winterfest 2024 just around the corner. Especially considering that this is a premium (paid) mode, limiting the experience seems counterproductive for both Epic Games and its users. If there's nothing to earn in Save The World, there's no point in players buying it in the first place.
Given that the mode is still active and players (myself included) play it regularly, it is premature and indirect to quote Skyrim: “Getting an arrow in the knee” doesn’t make any sense at all. While you can play PvP in Creative, it’s still not the same as Save The World, especially when there are V-Bucks on the line as well.
Hopefully this will change and the Fortnite Save The World experience will be completely reworked for the benefit of players. If the Fortnite Save The World experience cap is set at five or six Seasonal levels a day will pave the way forward, it is better than earning only nine a week.
That being said, the Fortnite Save The World experience situation will be closely monitored and this article will be updated as the situation changes. As it stands now, this is all the information we have at the moment.
