Fortnite Goes Beyond Battle Royale With Open World Mode
Epic Games has unveiled bold plans to take its flagship Fortnite title "beyond Battle Royale" with a new "open world" game mode, following in the footsteps of rival Apex Legends and their competitive "Arena" playlists.
В last few years Fortnite publishers rather loudly declared about his desire to expand his battle royale beyond its original state and now the very iconic Last Man Standing game mode.
According to recently leaked Fortnite documents that were officially revealed as part of Epic Games' ongoing lawsuit against Apple Behind the scenes, there are plans to create an "open world simulation sandbox mode" similar to Grand Theft Auto with an extensive multiplayer map of Los Santos.
May 3 insider Fortnite HYPEX tweeted the news.
“Epic will go beyond battle royale [next season] and provide us with an open world simulation sandbox,” the Fortnite leaker revealed. He also suggested that the new mode could be a "combat lab replacement" in future seasons.
Epic will go beyond Battle Royale and will give us an open world simulation sandbox, this might be a replacement for Battle Lab in the next season(s).. Check my previous tweet for context!

Ironically, the same statement - " go beyond the royal battle " was the slogan of Respawn, which just presented in his final season of Apex Legends, Legacy.
The plan, which Epic has reportedly been mulling over at its Cary studios in North Carolina for some time now, is also reminiscent of Minecraft, and more recently the popular game engine Roblox with its "open world" design.
Perhaps the closest comparison is the Fortnite co-title Save the World. While Epic's original release of Fortnite is classically referred to as an "open world" adventure, the free-to-play is actually closer to Left 4 Dead 2 or Call of Duty: Zombies in nature. Insiders have speculated that this recently leaked playlist will focus on Minecraft or Valheim.
The leaks from this week also seem to confirm these recent reports.
Previously uncovered images show camping in a large Fortnite-style forest. Three spawn points, including those for Assault Rifles, Homemade Bows, and Primal Bows, appear in the same frame. In another, a large forest "biome" appears.
On April 27, HYPEX also initially shared several "sandbox" images, including codes for trees and camps, as well as a "weird thing to create random objects with a seed."
What's more, this new "open world" mode is just around the corner.
Epic has already uploaded a number of codes and elements of the new mode to the Battle Royale backend. This suggests that the release date could be soon; Expect an announcement soon as the lawsuit against Apple resulted in a premature leak.
Also from the Epic lawsuit against Apple, it became known that Epic canceled the crossovers The Rock, The Hunger Games and Arianna Grande, as well as coming Naruto skin release.
