Our Destiny 2 Lumina walkthrough will take you through everything we currently know about this exotic hand cannon. We got a full look at all the steps of the quest, and a list of weapon feature perks will be shown.

Lumina (orig. Lumina Hair Care) is an exotic revolver introduced in Season of Opulence. It has a similar perk to the Thorn revolver, which leaves Essences after being killed.

LUMINA PERKS

  • Noble Patrons (Internal): Kills with this weapon leave residue behind. Absorbing the remainder converts your next shot into a Noble round looking for an ally and partially refills the magazine.
  • Heaven blessing (train): Using a Noble Round on an ally heals them and grants you and them a weapon damage bonus for a short duration.

LUMINA STEP-BY-STEP QUEST GUIDE

All of the Lumina Quest steps and some tips/tricks on how to complete them can be found below!

STEP 1: LOCATE THE ORIGINAL SPIKE

We need to go back to where we first found the spike. You will need to head to Frostland in the EDZ. There are salt mines north of Roseland, make your way to the mine and you will find a transmitter.

Use the transmission and you will be teleported to a new location. Move forward until you see a purple barrier and a railing on the left.

Move forward along the fence until you see a small niche that you can jump into.

In the back of this area, you will find a chest with a "fateful gift" - the first step is done!

STEP 2: FATAL GIFT

You discovered the letter in the ruined camp where you found your crippled spike. The sender claims to be the legendary Shin Malfur, a supposed benefactor with a sophisticated approach to goodness. He claims to entrust you with the original spike, a hated weapon capable of constantly killing guardians. The gun is hidden somewhere, and in order to find it, you will have to use the device's closed positioning system to track it down. Your ghost notices that the signal changes once an hour, for an hour, so you have to be quick.

Determine the location of the original spike using the system's positioning device.

Location Nessus Chest 

The place you are looking for is in the middle of The Tangle.

Here is what the input looks like:

Keep going forward in this area until you reach the next room. At the bottom side there will be a platform with orange lightning.

After you fall down, you should see the next path.

The chest will be right in this location:

Location Sinking Docks Chest 

If you're looking for the location of the sinking docks, head to Titan and you'll find it just west of Siren Clock.

Here is where it is in the game:

Location Mercury Lighthouse Chest 

To do this, you will need to take part in the Vex Crossroads public event on Mercury. It's at the top of one of the lighthouses, on the east side. You will need to jump on floating platforms to get to the top. Here is an image of the location below:

Location Spine of Keres Chest 

The chest is far to the West, in the city of dreams. You will have to go north through the Divalian Mists through an open passage. Then walk across rough terrain to the location indicated on the map below:

Location Io Excavation Site Chest

Travel to Io and travel to the Giant Scar Landing Zone. Then go to this area, which is located on the eastern cliffs:

You will need to go pretty deep and either kill all the monsters or skip them and try to survive. Find this room and you will see the chests where the purple circle is:

Location Shaft 13 Chest 

Check your system's positioning device, head to Mine 13 in the European Dead Zone. Use the slime landing zone on your map, Val 13 the lost sector, which is just south of where you end up!

Here's a look at the entrance to shaft 13:

Enter shaft 13 and climb up the scaffolding. Follow the open doors and you will eventually come to an open door with a room that has the next chest. You don't have to complete a lost sector, and if you run into enemies, you've gone too far!

STEP 3: EVIL BEARER OF THE PAST

You are the new owner of the original Dredgen Yor spike. Just holding a gun makes you sick - not necessarily from moral principles, but instead a very physical effect that reminds you of the loss of light during the Red War. You don't know what to do with this...thing. You are not going to shoot. At the very least, you think you should neutralize it.

Neutralize the inner darkness of the thorn with the power of your light.

For this step, you will need to create 250 orbs of light! One of the best ways to generate orbs of light is to use the master weapon in the blind well (the blind will is also part of the next quest step). If you have a better way, let me know in the comments! If you are on a team, you must receive credit for the orbs they generate.

STEP 4: THE ROSE OPENS

The searing power of your light burns away the disease that consumed Dredgen Yor's thorn, revealing the weapon it was: a rose. You contemplate the weapon for a long time before deciding to act. If the spike symbolizes twisted intent and uncontrollable malice, then you will make a gun that symbolizes something more: the courage to choose the right path, even when it is unpopular or unsafe. But for this you will need to start your second gunsmithing adventure.

Restore Rose's privileges to prepare the gun for its future transformation.

You will now receive the Rose Hand Cannon once you craft those 250 orbs. You will now need to complete three different quest steps to unlock the perks of the rose:

  • group together: Complete a strike at nightfall with a score of 50,000 or higher.
    • Complete Twilight
  • Protect Light: Defeat multiple enemy combatants in a row without reloading your weapon.
    • Streaks 100 - You will get credit for how many enemies you kill before reloading again after the first kill.
  • Face the hordes: full encounters at the Blind Well, at any of the Black Forges in the Armory, or at the Escalation Protocol.
    • 35 meetings

You don't seem to need the rose to be equipped for any of these issues. Use Huckleberry if you have it to reset the quest. It gains ammo when you kill, so it doesn't count as reloaded. Black weapon forges seem to be the preferred way to complete a Horde challenge. You must complete Twilight in a group together, don't stop once you get 50 points!!!

STEP 5: FIRETEAM LEADER

Your project is going well. The gun is more than a mechanical sound; he has united with your light. But unlike your quest to restore the spike, there are no mentors here. It's you, forging a new path, following your intuition in search of a strong symbol of hope. If there's one thing you've learned since the Red Legion invaded, it's that lone guardians spawn alone. Like-minded groups persist.

Complete activities throughout the solar system with Rosa. Fighting in the fire brigade with other rose owners gives the most effective progress.

It looks like you should be able to do whatever you want throughout the game. If you have some rewards to complete or quests you want to complete, they should count towards the percentage you need to complete. Ideally, you will find some people working on this step so you can earn some extra progress.

STEP 6: POWER IN NUMBERS

Your philosophy about this weapon has crystallized. If Thorn was a weapon of selfishness, then the gun you make will be a weapon of selflessness. If it's a coordinated fireteam that saved a city from a ghoul, then the gun you make will support fireteams. Light is unity in service to a hopeful future.

Defeat guardians with hand cannons on your team, generate orbs of light for other guardians, and defeat the invaders in Gambit before they kill any of your teammates.

You must generate 35 orbs of light, get up to 100% Guardian kills with a hand cannon, and then defeat the invaders before they kill any of your teammates.

  • For the Gambit part of the challenge, you just need to defeat the invader once before they kill any of your teammates. It looks like you'll need to do this within 10 seconds of them invading your side of the map.
  • For Guardian kills, you don't have to do it in Gambit. You can do this in a crucible and you don't need to use the Rose hand gun.
  • You don't need to create orbs of light in PvP, you can do it anywhere you find simple. Probably just do the same thing you did before to create them.

STEP 7: FLOWERING

You feel ready to complete your project, and you have the right poetic scheme for it: you plan to bring back the lost light from the hive. Using the power of your own abilities, you will redirect it into a cannon and, with any luck, it will bloom into something more.

Enter the "will of the thousands" strike with Rosa equipped to reclaim the lost light from the hive crystals and defeat Xol. Tasks must be completed in one pass through the activity; progress is not saved after multiple attempts.

You will need to bring back the light from 11 different crystals that you will find in the Will of a Thousand Strikes. Once you've completed this, you'll need to kill Xol and complete the strike. This should be the last step of the quest and you should get Lumina once it's completed!

CRYSTAL EXAMPLE

Crystals are very easy to find, you will see them floating in the air when you find enemies. You need to destroy the crystals with the Rose.

Once you've run out of crystals, simply kill Xol and Rose will be consumed and give you Lumina!
