Developer Fisherman's Tale Innerspace VR is back with a new title. Well, Corsair's Curse is probably a little different than what you'd expect. Corsair's Curse is not just a direct continuation of the January release, but also a VR arcade game. today creator Arizona Sunshine Vertigo Games has announced that it will distribute the game through its own arcade platform in the spring of 2019. Vertigo also published "Fisherman's Tale" earlier in the year.
Corsair's Curse is designed for two to four players. Participants can physically walk around the large outdoor area while working together in virtual reality. It offers many traditional quest-style puzzle solutions, although it borrows a bit from The Fisherman's Tale. For example, some players will be much larger than others, requiring new approaches to solve puzzles. You can see the announcement of the game above.
Vertigo Arcades was launched last year as a means of delivering VR hardware and software to different parts of the world. The platform is currently equipped with a content launcher called VR Arcade Suite. It provides developers with the tools to easily integrate arcade-specific features such as new tracking systems and mixed reality features into their games. The company also launched a localized version of Arizona Sunshine through its Arcades division.
In the meantime, Corsair's Curse will be listed at GDC later this month. We'll be interested to test this; The Fisherman's Tale is one of our favorite VR games of the year, and its puzzles in particular are something special.
