The legendary Minecraft finds a continuation in the series: Dungeons
Recently, at the last Minecon Earth 2018 conference, Mojang announced a new role-playing game that takes place in the very popular Minecraft universe today.
Minecraft: Dungeons will be a cooperative adventure in the best traditions of the original game, namely the genre of dungeon exploration and pixel art.
The launch of the game is scheduled for 2019, the adventure action will be released for PC, the release of the game on consoles has not yet been announced. The Swedish branch of Mojang, responsible for the development of the game, offers an adventure filled with familiar tasks, characters, objects and opponents. Although players will be free to explore the new blocky world, it is not an open world.
Dungeons in Minecraft: Dungeons are populated by monsters and familiar, angular characters from the world of Minecraft. Players can go through it both alone and in cooperative mode (a group of four people). The design of the game is completely recognizable, but the graphics have been worked hard.
“When I think about Minecraft, I basically think of it as a multiverse, like multiple universes – Dungeons is essentially one of the Minecraft worlds with specific areas, specific quests and monsters. However, the game does have procedurally generated elements, of course, but it's not the open world that Minecraft is."

Dungeons is not the first offshoot of Minecraft. Mojang and Microsoft, which has owned the studio since 2014, have been developing new worlds in the Minecraft universe for a long time, including as part of the Minecraft: Story Mode story series from Telltale Games.
