Act 1: Rescue Lord Shimura - Ghost of Tsushima Walkthrough

On this page of our guide " Ghost of Tsushima » the passage of the quest "Rescue Mr. Shimura" is described in detail .

Warrior Code

ghost of tsushima

This is one of the 2 main quests that you can complete after completing the prologue. You have to meet Young near the fishing village. Get on your horse and get to a vantage point near the camp.

Stand on the spot indicated by the game and press :r2:to start exploration. You must move the left analog stick in a semicircle to explore the interactive areas. Press X and listen to the comment.

After dark, head towards the enemy fort. Find and enter the hole in the wall. Sneak up on the first Mongol and click on :square:to execute sneak attack "backstab".

Memory

After the first Mongol is killed, the game will show memory . You return to young Jin's training under Lord Shimura's watchful eye. The main part of this tutorial is tracking basics . You must find animal tracks on the ground and follow them. It's easier than you think - just stay on the small path surrounded by grass. Get to the bear's corpse and examine it. This will trigger an enemy assassin attack - you don't need to react to this in any way.

Find Taka

Now you can use listening , which is activated by pressing the touchpad. This mode scans the surroundings for enemies. This can help you avoid them or get behind enemies to perform a sneak attack. It is worth adding that in the later part of the game you will be able to acquire skills that increase the effectiveness of listening.

The camp is a place with relatively few enemies. By relying on listening, you can easily approach them from behind and kill them. We also recommend checking out the camp for loot and collectibles.

guide

In the largest tent, after killing the warrior who is inside, you can collect the first Mongolian artifact Aauruul and the first record Conversations with Khan -1, as well as a large number supplies.

Така not in the camp, but there straw hat, which is trapped in the cage shown in the image above (you can also open and search other cages if you wish).

After releasing the Straw Hat, return to the hole in the fence to escape the camp. Move away from the hostile location and watch the cut-scenes that end the quest. From them you will learn that the Mongols took Taku to the bay of Azamo

Mission rewards: received technique point, unlocked listening, journal updated to Broken Smith

Broken Blacksmith

ghost of tsushima

Visit a farm in the south of Azamo to start this mission. There you will meet Young and her friend Kenji .

Having chosen the direction to Azamo on the map, along the way you will meet a fox in the location of the Fox hole. Follow her to find the shrine and pray to Inari, which will unlock a new ward slot. There will be several stops along the way.

After watching the videos, get to the wagon filled with sake and start walking through the forest. Once you get to the city, you must go to the back of the cart and interact with it. Jin will hide inside. The cart will not be searched - just wait until you reach Azamo Bay, occupied by the Mongols.

After leaving the cart outside the guard gate, starting from here, you cannot raise the alarm - it will fail the mission. Move in a crouched position and stay away from the Mongols in the city.

Climb up to the first rooftop and get to a vantage point from which you can scout out the area. Pay attention to the enemy with a torch watching the prisoners.

You have to start tracking the slaver with the torch . Remember, you cannot cause an alarm. The solution to this problem, fortunately, is quite simple - move on rooftops that are not guarded by opponents. Not all rooftops are connected - you will have to jump to the ones that are farther away.

After eavesdropping on the interrogation of one of the slaves, you learn that Taka, the imprisoned blacksmith, is to be executed. Time for the harder part - you have to make your way through the square without being seen. We recommend that you go through the left side of the square and sneak right behind the enemy. Soon you will return to the roof.

Finish tailing the slaver and you can go through the last building. Getting to Taki , watch the cut-scene during which the blacksmith is rescued.

There should be no new enemies on the way to the north gate. You also shouldn't be sneaking on rooftops. You can climb the crates and jump over the wall to leave the city.

Next, move towards the meeting point with Kenji - you will encounter several Mongolian patrols searching the area . The important information is that you don't have to fight the Mongols. Once you spot a patrol, you can quickly hide in the grass and wait for the enemies to pass.

Keep moving towards the place where you will meet Kenji. Reach a vantage point to complete the quest.

Mission rewards: Your Legend Grows, Max Health Increased, New Ghost Weapon Unlocked kunai, diary updated to Broken Smith and active stories unlocked Servant of the people и Unfinished business.

History of Sensei Ishikawa

ghost of tsushima

To start this quest, you must visit Hiyoshi village . Go to the inn and ask the NPC marked in the game about Ishikawa. Follow him to the nearest hill. After another conversation, find dojo sensei ishikawa . You will learn from the NPC that this is where the sensei should be. Climb up to get there.

In the dojo you will find signs of a fight - search the location. Inside, examine the broken equipment and bloodstains. The most important discovery is footprints. Exit the building and start following them. Get to the smaller building where you will meet sensei Ishikawa .

Embark on a linear journey with Ishikawa. You will come across a group of Mongols - it shouldn't be difficult to deal with them. Shortly after winning the battle, you will find yourself in a small camp - there are 3 interactive points to explore.

Shortly after resuming travel Sensei Ishikawa will give you a shortbow .

You can test your new weapon right away by completing a lesson on how to use a bow . Aim the bow while holding L2. Try to hit all 3 lanterns with arrows. When aiming at more distant targets remember to aim a little higher as the arrows do not fly in a straight line.

Continue your journey. Reach the hill adjacent to Fort Nakayama, and find a place where you can start reconnaissance. Look for semi-circles and find places suitable for ambushing the Mongols - look for a pendant lamp, hornet nests, archers practicing in the yard, and a red barrel.

Once you regain control of Jin, you will be able to surprise attack on your opponents . You can use the knowledge gained from intelligence:

  1. Shoot nests to send hornets over your opponents.
  2. Shoot the red barrels to make them explode.
  3. Shoot down the lamps so they fall on the enemies.

You can also focus on attacking opponents directly. There is a large supply of arrows on the hill, so don't worry about it.

After dealing with the patrol, go down the hill and head towards the Fort. Here you have complete freedom in how you want to behave - you can keep using the bow (it's worth killing the archers occupying rooftops and lookout towers), take out enemies in direct combat, or try to backstab them.

Pay special attention to the fort leader - avoid his red attacks and expect him to be more resilient.

The fort has several places to explore:

  1. Watch out for the shooters stuck in the target at the shooting range.
  2. Find the scroll inside one of the buildings.
  3. Look at the women's kimono in one of the buildings.

Return to the sensei and listen to the conversation with the peasant. The quest will end soon.

Mission rewards: available History of Tsushima, unlocked stand "Water" , vehicles unlocked archery, diary updated to Lady Masako's Story, Blood on the grass и Hammer and Horn.

Lady Masako's Story

ghost of tsushima

You can complete this mission after completing the main tasks "Warrior's Code" и "The Story of Sensei Ishikawa" . To get started, you must get to Adachi estates .

You have to inspect the main estate and the guest house - enemies will jump out of the latter.

Examine the corpses of the defeated assassins, then go to the stable. Find footprints and start following them. They take you to the dead horse in the forest. After a while you will meet masako .

After regaining control of Jin, mount your horse. Reach the place where the fallen are buried and hold R2 to bow.

Get back on the horse. Your choice of dialogue option during the trip is not important. Destination - Golden Temple .

After entering the Golden Temple, talk to one of the NPCs to find out the location monk Sogen . You must meet him.

Talk to the Gunsmith which is located in the Golden Temple. You will receive free Samurai clan armor from a merchant. This armor is great for direct combat. It's worth putting on if you know a direct confrontation is imminent, or only after you start a bigger battle (the game doesn't block you from doing that).

Find Lady Masako , talk to her and follow to the nearest observation point. You need to find Sogen, the monk you talked to recently - he will be standing on the path at the bottom of the screen.

The most important information is that you can fail the mission if you are spotted by Sogen . Remember the following things:

  1. Stay away from Sogen. It will go slowly, so it's hard to lose it.
  2. Hide in tall grass and behind large boulders. You should also try to rise above the target.
  3. Be prepared for Sogen to turn around a few times to find out who is watching him When this happens, hide somewhere or stay away.

Sogen leads Jin and Lady Masako to a hostile camp near гостиницы . Stand next to the bushes marked by the game to eavesdrop on the conversation.

You will be forced to perform in direct combat. Start with a confrontation (release the Triangle when the bandit attacks) and then continue fighting the remaining enemies. Beware of archers. If you have already unlocked Water Stance, use it when attacking opponents with shields. By clicking on the triangle, you can expose these enemies to further attacks.

The final part of the mission is very simple. Enter the abandoned inn and use the stairs to get to the floor. Approach Sogen and watch the scene.

At the end of the cutscene, there are 4 objects in the inn that can be explored, the most important of which is — List of conspirators . Show the scroll to Lady Masako to complete the quest.

Mission Completion Rewards: Legend Fortified (XP) - bigger bonus, samurai clan armor available, quest Leader unlocked.

Blood on the grass

tsushima ghost

This is not a very long quest. The walkthrough explains when you meet Ryuzo how to defeat the Mongol warriors and how to acquire the robes of ronin.

You can complete this mission after completing the main tasks "Warrior's Code" и "The Story of Sensei Ishikawa" . The starting location for this quest is attacked Mongolian convoy .

Examine the body of the Mongol lying by the burning cart. On the main path you will find more corpses - follow this "road". One of the Mongols will still be alive - you can kill him (optional).

Shortly after going through all the bodies you will find straw hat, lying on the road. Examine it to trigger a scene - the hero will meet one of his friends, Ryuzo .

The video will end with a battle against the Mongols - start with a confrontation. If you have already unlocked the water stance, switch to it when fighting opponents with shields. Use a strong attack (Triangle) to subject them to further attacks. Also, keep an eye on the stronger leader during the duel and avoid his red attacks.

Once you're done, get on your horse and start following Ryuzo. The choice of dialogue option during this trip is not important. On the way, the heroes come across a destroyed cart - inspect it. Talk to the peasant.

Continue your journey towards the allied Straw Hat camp.

Follow Ryuzo to the place where you can get the robes of ronin for free . This is a great piece of clothing for sneak attacks and stealth attacks. This outfit makes you harder to see and increases melee damage.

Along with the armor, you will also receive a straw hat, although this item does not affect Jin's stats in any way. The quest will end soon.

Quest rewards: your legend grows strong (xp) - big bonus, robes of ronin, main quest "History Ryuzo" unlocked.

Hammer and Horn

This mission takes place in one big place. We offer information on how to help the peasants from the Komatsu Forge and how to win the big battle against the Mongols.

You can start this quest after completing the main quest Broken Blacksmith . You must go to Komatsu . This is one of the largest places that can be freed from the Mongols.

After entering the forge area, find the battlefield. Help the allies to destroy the Mongols.

When the battle is over, talk to Young and follow her to the main forge building. you will meet with Such .

Go where you must stay Yukio . You can either kill or avoid the Mongols you meet along the way. Enter the building and deal with the opponents (preferably quietly). Yukio hides on the top floor of the building.

Go outside and go to the marked building. You must save the villagers. Try to do it calmly - thanks to stealth attacks, you can, for example, kill the enemy with a large shield.

Next, you need to bring the inhabitants to the forge. It's more of a challenge - if you are found on the way to the forge, the Mongols may try to kill the villagers . This will be indicated by a skull icon. If you fail to save the villager, the mission will fail. .

Aim at the back of opponents focused on killing villagers, or better yet, try to avoid confrontation with enemy patrols altogether. If you encounter a patrol, you can simply hide and wait until they leave. Talk to Taka.

After that, go to where Yuna should be. After talking to her, you will be ordered save the hostages . It is highly recommended to use stealth - if you activate the alarm, the enemies may begin to prepare to kill the hostages. Their death will fail the mission.

Use listeningto make it easier to find and eliminate the Mongols. After clearing the area, hold R2 to rescue the hostages.

This looks identical to one of the previous mission objectives - try to avoid encounters with the Mongols, you don't want to risk the lives of the villagers. If the alarm goes off, watch out for the skull icon and kill the Mongols before they can land a killing blow on any of the civilians.

Before talking to Taka, put on the armor of the Samurai clan and heal the hero - the great battle begins .

Your task is to defend your position near the main forge building. Enemies will appear in waves. You will have enough time to kill most of the opponents in the current group before the next one appears.

Pay special attention to the enemy archers - use the bow to kill them or you can get to them quickly. Also, look for them in the tall grass near the forge.

Enemies with shields and spears can be problematic - switch to a position that is more suitable for this type of enemy. Beware of big enemies, including the leader. If you have gadgets (such as kunai daggers), use them to stun or weaken enemies.

This is the first major mission in which watch dogs although you may already know them from their side effects. Each of their attacks is red - dodge and perform one attack.

You must take care of your allies during this battle. . Pay attention to the skull icons. Luckily, they don't die after one attack - you can save a comrade before he bleeds out . Protect the area first because this process takes a few seconds (you need to hold R2).

Win the battle at the forge to complete this quest.

Mission rewards: Your legend gets stronger (xp) - big bonus.

History of Ryuzo

tsushima ghost

This mission can be obtained after completing another story quest − Blood on the grass . Meeting with Ryuzo Takuzudama cemetery , which is located near the areas occupied by the Mongols.

After listening to the conversation, continue the linear transition to the hill, from which you can see fort ogira и Tsutsu lighthouse .

You must sneak up to the top of the lighthouse, without causing alarm otherwise the mission will fail. If you can, put on Ronin's clothes to make it easier to sneak around.

Go forward and get to the hole in the palisade. Before you go through it, use listening and make sure the passage is safe.

There are not many Mongols in the fort and they are far apart. Although you need to avoid detection, you can kill oncoming opponents, but, of course, with the help of silent executions. You should be able to get to the lighthouse entrance without killing anyone.

Climb the stairs to the top (you will run into a sentry along the way - kill him). Sabotage the alarm on the small balcony, then use the torch to light the bonfire at the lighthouse. After lighting the fire, your allies will start the attack.

After leaving the lighthouse, join the battle and help your allies, who are dealing with the Mongols approaching from the fort. The battle shouldn't be difficult, though be sure to change your position when fighting protected opponents, for example.

Due to the fact that the battle takes place in a small arena, use bombs or kunai knives. Don't forget the archers and use the bow to take care of those enemies standing on the rooftops.

After dealing with all the opponents, talk to Ryuzo. Come up to a vantage point from which you can see the big Mongolian base. You must find interactive locations and press X on each - you'll find a boat on a pier, a heavily guarded main entrance, a hill where allied archers can be deployed, and a supply of red barrels that can be blown up, distracting opponents in progress.

Follow Ryuzo down the path that will take you down the hill and into the Mongol camp. The archers will shoot and the battle begins. You don't have to fight on the beach , but get rid of those Mongols that stand in your way.

The boat is your destination . You have to get to the pier, get on the boat and hold the interaction button to get to the first Mongol ship.

Enter the large cabin and start looking for it - unfortunately, the heroes won't find any food. After Ryuzo opens the door, the new battle with the Mongols . The battle takes place in a small area - try to skillfully avoid enemy attacks. Again, you can also use kunai or bombs.

Ryuzo will warn you about the archers aboard the next ship. Don't try to attack them from a distance. Just run across the footbridge and fight them in hand-to-hand combat. Leave a strong leader for the end.

Head to the designated area. You will meet several new Mongols that you can surprise with an attack. You can also help free the bear from its cage and let the animal help you in eliminating some of the enemies.

Look in the cabins of the new ship. You won't find food, but you will scroll Mongolian military plans .

Go back to where Jin and Ryuzo parted earlier (you will meet a new enemy along the way). Get to the door marked by the game. After opening them, it is revealed that Ryuzo has been injured. You must save him before he bleeds - unfortunately, the big Mongol enemy will make it difficult for you. It's best to use Kunai Knives quickly and hit him when he's stunned.

After watching the videos, jump into the water. Jin and Ryuzo automatically return to their camp on the beach and the mission is over.

Mission rewards: your legend grows strong (xp), robes of ronin, main quest Iron Hook unlocked.

Iron Hook

You can start this quest after completing all the story quests above. Jin must help all his allies and take over the forge.

Start by getting to the forge Komatsu. Talk to Yuna. Now go to the main building of the Forge to talk to Such . You will receive a very important new gadget - the Iron Hook. .

Go outside to talk to Ryuzo . Move to Fort Yatate . The journey will take place on horseback. Along the way, several Straw Hat warriors will join you. On the last leg of your journey, you part ways with the rest of the team and reach the cliff at the back of the fort alone.

Here you will use for the first time gripping hook . Grab can only be activated while jumping (that is, after pressing the X button) and only if an icon appears prompting you to press R2. The grapple hook has 2 main purposes:

  1. You can take horizontal white and red hooks and swing on them. Initially, these will be single jumps, but in the later climb phase, you need to complete two jumps in a series.
  2. You can take the white and red hooks on the vertical walls and climb them.

Keep using the grappling hook until you reach to the point of observation from which you will be able to see most of the Yatate Fort.

Fort Yatate is a fairly large place. Before you can rescue the prisoners, you must personally remove all or most of the Mongols. from the first part of the camp. The reason for this is that if you rescue the prisoners too soon, they will start to follow Jin and engage in combat. Unfortunately, these characters can fall quickly and you will have to save them by "reviving" them to prevent the entire mission from failing.

It is best to start securing the camp with a grappling hook to get to the first lookout tower and get rid of the archer. Do the same with other archers. Use listening to locate enemies and reduce the risk of being detected.

Some enemies will stand close to each other, and you can "solve" these problems in different ways, for example, rely on 2-3 kills in a series (skill required) or drop bombs in the middle of a group.

An interesting idea to solve the problem is to free several bears kept in cages in the fort. Remember, however, to quickly distance yourself from the bear and let it attack the Mongols.

Allies are paired up in three different cages . You can contact them in any order.

Once all the prisoners have been released, reach the locked large gate and turn on the alarm next to it. This will signal Ryuzo and his men to attack.

Open the gate leading to the next area of the fort. You must enter into straight fight here, so consider trading in your gear for samurai armor, for example. Combat can be quite chaotic - try to focus as much as possible on 1-2 opponents at a time to reduce the risk that you won't be able to avoid or parry some attacks. As before, use bombs, especially if a group of Mongols are lining up next to each other.

After winning the battle, talk to Ryuzo to complete the mission.

Mission Rewards: Your legend grows stronger (xp), iron hook, history quest Shadow of the Samurai unlocked.

Shadow of the Samurai

tsushima ghost

You can start this quest after completing the main quest iron hook . Start by meeting Yuna in Forge Komatsu . After the conversation, the action moves to the neighborhood Kaneda Castle . If you wish, you can talk to allies in the area - Masako, Ishikawa, Kenji and Taka. Finally, return to Yuna to start the attack on the castle.

Note. This is the last quest of the first act of the campaign, the main goal of which is to free Mr. Shimura. You can leave the remaining side quests for later - completing this quest will not prevent you from completing them . Once you have completed this task, you will be able to return to the first region of Tsushima and continue with the remaining side quests, additional activities, and collecting achievements and collectibles.

Go to cliff next to the castle and start climbing. You must climb a large branch, jump towards an interactive hook visible in the distance, and grab it with using the hook (press R2 in the air). This will allow you to reach the upper walkway leading up the palisade. Find a hole in the fence and squeeze through it.

This part of the mission you can't trigger the alarm - If you do this, the mission will fail. Luckily, there are not many opponents in the area, and besides, some of them are sleeping (they are easy to kill). Don't forget to use eavesdrop so you don't get caught.

The first area is patrolled by two Mongols. It's best to wait for them to split up and then go behind them and silently eliminate each of them. The first sleeping sentry in the area is also located there - you can kill him in his sleep.

Take an interest in the building on the right, but keep an eye out for Mongol patrols of its interior. Infiltrate the building and kill the guard as he looks or walks the other way. There is also a second sleeping enemy - kill him.

Take an interest in the building on the right, but keep an eye out for Mongol patrols of its interior. Infiltrate the building and kill the guard as he looks or walks the other way. There is also a second sleeping enemy - kill him.

You will be able to find the exit when you reach the window shown in the picture. Jumping over it will allow Jin to reach a little more space.

Guarding the square is easy, as only two Mongols have to guard it. Wait for your opponents to separate, sneak up behind the first one and silently execute him.

Your allies will appear in the castle - now you don't have to sneak .

The upper courtyard is accessible via a wide path. You must get rid of the Mongols found on it. Sneaking is not necessary, but try to surprise at least one of the Mongols - it's good to make a surprise attack on one of the strong opponents.

Once you reach the upper courtyard, talk to Masako.

You will meet Yuna on the bridge. Another fight - beware of archers, as at least one of them can be found on a higher wall.

After winning the battle, cross the bridge and reach the closed gate leading to the next part of the castle.

Take an interest in the area to the right of the locked gate. As shown in the picture, you can take one of the edges and start descending . The purpose of this is to get to the mountain path passing under the bridge.

Jump to the first wooden support, then the second and perform a jump in combination with pressing R2 to grab the hook with the grappling hook. Continue lifting, using the grappling hook again.

Once you are to the left of the locked gate, Jin finds a hole in the fence. Go to the gate. You must kill one opponent (preferably with a surprise attack) and open the gate to open the way for Yuna.

You and Yuna are heading to another courtyard that you passed through some time ago. There are enemies there - try to attack at least one opponent. Consider targeting the leader so that the sneak attack will weaken him, making dealing with him in direct combat a lot easier.

During the fight, watch out for the enemy to throw flashbangs. Back away quickly if anyone lands next to you. In the future, you will also meet the first archer to shoot flaming arrows . If you get hit by such an arrow, your hero will start to burn and gradually lose hit points. Roll (2x circle) to remove the effect. In all further battles, the elimination of such archers should be a priority.

Another path leads to the main courtyard. The new gate will also be closed, and therefore you must find a hole in the stockade.

Before breaking through the hole put on your samurai armor and heal yourself while you are facing a major boss fight.

Boss fight

Ryuzo - boss of this chapter . You must defeat him in a sword fight. You cannot use other weapons or gadgets.

Ryuzo can launch standard katana attacks, with his red and blue attacks being the most problematic.

Avoid red attacks , preferably by evasion. Ryuzo uses several varieties of these attacks, with the most annoying being the series of two attacks that occur after Ryuzo has been sheathing his katana for some time. Do not press the dodge button (circle) very quickly twice, but with some pause between presses. Only then can you avoid both attacks and not get hurt.

You should completely avoid the boss's blue attacks along with the red ones.

Ryuzo "launches" his blue attacks in several ways, the most dangerous of which is using his blue attacks right after one of his red ones. You must be ready to parry after performing a dodge to avoid a red attack.

The boss can be weakened by a series of 2-3 katana hits after he has avoided or parried his attacks.

Most damage dealt by perfect parries . You need to unlock this skill and press L1 at the last moment. This is obviously very risky, as blocking late means serious damage.

If you have lost a lot of health points, move away from the boss and activate the healing (down arrow button).

Despite defeating Ryuzo, you won't be able to kill him. , as the traitor will flee the arena where you dueled. Instead, he will leave a straw hat (cosmetic item).

You must start a new fight right after Ryuzo escapes. Again, focus on the yellow archers - those who can shoot flaming arrows.

Head to the main building where Shimura is. Kill more Mongols and use the main entrance to the tower.

Immediately after entering the building, a confrontation will begin - try to kill 1 or more enemies (if you have acquired the confrontation upgrade skills). You will encounter Mongols on every floor of the tower. You can kill one of them with a surprise attack by pressing the "kill" action button after you are at the sliding door.

After beating each group, find the stairs leading to the top floor. Once you reach the last room, you can release Lord Shimura .

Jin and Shimura will automatically leave the building. Now about the final battle with the Mongols. During the fight, watch out for the elite Mongols using blue attacks - just like in the fight with Ryuzo, you can parry or dodge them.

After removing the enemies from the courtyard, a short scene will activate where the next Mongols reach the gate. Drop the bomb before they scatter. Deal with this group to trigger cut scenes, ending this quest and Act 1 of the game.

Mission Rewards: Your legend grows stronger, unlocked access to the region Toyota, unlocked story quest " New Horizon" .
