First Experimental FOV Mod released for God of War
Sony has just released God of War on PC and its first experimental FOV (Increased Field of View) mod has surfaced online. Like most FOV mods, it uses Cheat Engine, so PC gamers can use their own FOV values.
Contributed by a Reddit user KingKrouchy, this CheatEngine Mod allows for custom FOV values. However, this mod also affects cutscenes, resulting in nasty results. That's why I've tagged this FOV project as "experimental". While you can improve your gaming experience, you will encounter numerous graphical bugs and glitches during cutscenes.
It should be noted that the design "single camera" gaming is the main reason Jetpack and Santa Monica didn't include the FOV slider. And this first FOV mod proves them right. So let's hope the modder can fix this issue with another FOV mod.
However, I'm pretty sure some PC gamers will want to play this new game with a wider FOV no matter what. If you are one of them, you can download CheatEngine from here and the CheatEngine table for God of War here.
