Introduction

Welcome to our Battlefield 2042 Trophies guide! After two periods of historical warfare in Battlefield 1 and V, DICE transitions to a futuristic setting, with the game set in the year 2042. There is no single player campaign this time around, only online modes, although there is now the added ability to play games solo or cooperatively with and against AI bots, and most trophies can be earned by playing these modes. The game also introduces a new mode called Hazard Zone which functions as a hybrid between typical battle royale modes as well as the pickup and escape goal in games like Escape from Tarkov or Hunt: Showdown. There is also the introduction of Specialists, which are selectable characters with unique abilities that you play during a match, in addition to the typical loadouts of past Battlefield games.

Step 1: Work on specialist specific trophies, decide which items you use for T1 badges

Your first basic step is to start playing in Conquest or breakthrough, working on various specialized trophies and deciding which items you want to use for the 4 T1 Mastery Badge requirements. You want to decide which items to level up to level 1 early on so you can work on them the same way you work on other requirements. Sticking to the same primary weapon most of the time is the biggest thing to keep in mind, as they all require 2 kills, but can work in almost all modes and with all specialists.

Step 2: Danger Zone

After you get your bearings in other modes and earn special trophies to get a feel for some of them, you can switch to working in the Danger Zone. This is a new mode that is a hybrid between the battle royale mode and the need to collect data disks on the map and then successfully escape. You will need to play this mode for a while to reach 25 successful Escapes with a total of 50 Data Discs, as well as complete at least one successful escape without squad mates dying. Level and unlocks are still separate in this mode, so you can still work on some other trophy progression here.

Step 3: Clear all remaining trophies

After completing the Danger Zone requirements, you may still have T1 Masteries to complete, or you may miss out on some of the other one-time trophies that you can quickly finish in Portal matches if needed with the help of another player by creating a 1v1 server.

A Note About Glitched Trophies

Potentially all trophies in Battlefield 2042 have unlock issues where completing a requirement will not unlock the trophy, even if done multiple times. All trophies ultimately will be unlocked with enough repeats so that they are actually registered as full on the server and then awarded to you. If you complete an action or feel like you've done some of the accumulated trophies more times than necessary and still haven't earned the trophy, you'll just have to keep doing the action again until the trophy is awarded. The game tracks cumulative trophies in a weird way, apparently through some statistic servers that have a huge amount of latency. Some trophies might even autofill when you log in after a day or two because the servers need time to catch up and sync up your progress. For some other trophies, such as 20 headshots or 20 melee kills, it may be enough to get one more of these types of kills in a new match to pull the trophy. Level-related trophies (such as reaching level 15) are usually glitchy but will unlock at some point later, potentially a few days later when you level up and the Battlefield servers will finally sync your trophy progress. There should be less of a problem when trying to autosave trophies on a different version of the game, once you've earned a trophy on one version it will register the first repeated action most of the time when playing the other version.

Earning Trophies in AI Bot Matches and Portal Mode

Most of the trophies can be earned in AI matches against bots or in portal mode with a friend on a 1v1 server.

For AI Bot Matches: On the title screen, click All-Out Warfare >  Change game mode >  Solo & Co-Op > Conquest or Breakthrough >  Change settings to choose the card you like > 

In Portal you can make a 1v1 server (recommended to choose BF 2042 map, on maps from old BF games we had problems pulling some trophies). Ask a friend to join your server through your friends list. Then you can grow whatever you need. For example, shooting a helicopter with a rocket launcher while skydiving is done quickly in this mode (but we needed to do it 4 times before it finally burst).

In addition, you can change the settings for the portal servers using the website: portal.battlefield.com On this website, you can change any settings you want, including adding AI bots, changing weapon availability, soldier health, and more, and then start the server in game with those settings. If you are having trouble creating a new interface on the website, you can first make the portal server in the game and then edit the server on the website and save the changes and reload the portal server in the game for them to take effect.
