As we look at the current situation in CS:GO, it's time to dive into which top 10 AWPers are the best of the best right now.
There are many options to choose from, but only a few will make it all the way to the top. In this ranking, HLTV rating is not the only factor. Potential and exceptional achievements are also considered and valued along with professional history.
1.s1mple
You can say what you want, but s1mple is still number one and deservedly so. He is without a doubt one of the most famous CS:GO players at the time, still rocking at Natus Vincere as he has been for over four years now. This man has an insane talent for AWP and the best display of that is probably the next clip.
2.ZywOo
The two always fight each other, albeit with a lot of mutual respect (s1mple even recently mentioned him as the best AWPer). Player Vitality has earned a well-deserved #1 spot in the top 20 HLTV players of 2020, and it certainly makes sense when you see what he can do while taking risks but still succeeding.
3.device
As part of the current best team in the world, Astralis, and a player that they certainly can't miss on their team, device can't always deliver the brightest games. Despite this, he still does amazing things and deserves the third place in this ranking. Just look how clean and prudent he manages to get an ace
4.KennyS
The legendary AWPer and another French player on this list who is also unique in his own way currently represents G2 Esports. He has been with the team for over four years so far, being the longest-serving member of the team. He has many standout games in his CS:GO career and is still doing some crazy stuff.
5. Jam
"Jame time" - if there is a phrase for which he is known, then this one. He is a relatively young player who started at AVANGAR and has already done amazing things there, now he is the Virtus.Pro team. In the eyes of some, he is even "the new s1mple". While this claim may be a bit far-fetched, it should not be underestimated.
6.cadiaN
Heroic has been in the spotlight a little less lately, but that doesn't change the fact that cadiaN is talented with AWP in hand. He was an obvious part of the reason why Heroic was able to reach the same peak, so they still perform well.
7. Fallen
This man's talent is unmistakable. He's been on the run for a while now and recently got a "second chance" of sorts after his adventure with MIBR came to an end, he's now moved to Team Liquid. However, he has always been insanely talented, even if you go back to his glory days at SK Gaming.
8.JW
JW, who has been playing for fnatic for four years, is another extremely experienced player on this list. He and his team recently managed a great run at cs_summit 7, narrowly missing out on first place, losing to Virtus.pro. It was in the semi-final that JW really showed himself.
9.mantuu
The best Polish player from the UK and an outstanding AWP in his own right, known for his quick reactions, is currently with OG. His fast zooms are legendary and worthy of attention even when his team may not be victorious.
10.degster
Spirit player actually on loan from ESPADA. He is young, incredibly talented and proved it most recently at the DreamHack Open in January 2021 with an amazing AWP 4K.
Now you should know which AWPer to expect the most from, especially this new year. Let's hope that in 2021 the AWP will have even more amazing games and more talented players. Perhaps something will also change in the HLTV rating, we are following this year closely!
